About BIS 2025
BIS is a renowned international conference on business information systems. BIS 2025 will be the 25th in a series of international conferences. From the very beginning it has been recognized by scientists and business practitioners as a forum for the exchange and dissemination of topical research in the development, implementation, application, and improvement of computer systems for business.
AI-driven business transformation: challenges and opportunities
Following on the importance for business and fast development of artificial intelligence and digital transformation the theme for the conference was defined as “AI-driven business transformation: challenges and opportunities”.
Digital transformation is the process of integrating digital technology into all areas of a business, fundamentally changing how organizations operate and deliver value to customers. It involves a steady shift in approach to technology that requires organizations to continually challenge the status quo. Digital transformation is currently one of the strategic topics for businesses because it enables them to improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and stay competitive in an increasingly digital marketplace. By leveraging technologies such as data analytics, cloud computing, and most of all artificial intelligence, companies can innovate faster, make better informed decisions, and meet the evolving needs of their customers.
Speaking of the last component – artificial intelligence – it became an enabler and catalyzer for many changes in business. Many activities that required human-level creativity are currently challenged by automated algorithms. AI technologies such as natural language understanding, object recognition, or media description enable businesses to analyze vast amounts of data quickly and accurately, uncovering insights that would be impossible to detect manually. This empowers organizations to make smarter decisions, optimize operations, and personalize customer experience. By automating routine tasks, AI also allows employees to focus on more strategic activities, fostering innovation and improving productivity. As a result, integrating AI into digital transformation initiatives is essential for businesses seeking to maintain a competitive edge and adapt to the rapidly changing digital landscape.
