About BIS
BIS is a renowned international conference on business information systems. BIS 2026 will be the 26th in a series of international conferences. From the very beginning it has been recognized by scientists and business practitioners as a forum for the exchange and dissemination of topical research in the development, implementation, application, and improvement of computer systems for business.
From Hype to Impact: Turning AI into Real Business Value
In recent years, artificial intelligence has evolved from a promising technological frontier into a central force shaping business strategy and innovation. Yet, as organizations have raced to adopt AI-driven tools and solutions, many have discovered that moving from experimentation to tangible results is far from straightforward. The 2026 theme “From Hype to Impact: Turning AI into Real Business Value” reflects this critical shift in focus. Businesses are now challenged not by a lack of AI opportunities, but by the need to translate those opportunities into measurable outcomes that drive growth, efficiency, and competitiveness.
The era of fascination with AI’s potential is giving way to an era of execution. Companies are learning that true impact comes from embedding AI within their processes, decision-making, and products in a way that aligns with strategic objectives. This involves rethinking business models, redesigning processes, and developing a culture of data-driven innovation. Success is no longer defined by how advanced the algorithms are, but how effectively they solve real problems, improve customer experiences, and create sustainable value.

BIS 2026 invites researchers, practitioners, and innovators to explore how AI can deliver on its promise – not just as a tool of transformation, but as a foundation for meaningful business impact. Through real-world case studies, cross-disciplinary insights, and forward-looking research, we aim to understand how artificial intelligence can move beyond experimentation to become a true engine of value in the digital economy.
BIS 2026 proceedings will be published as a volume in Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) series by Springer Nature.
BIS conference is on the list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland and has 70 points (as of November 2025).
