Call for Workshops and Events Proposals

The BIS 2027 Chair invites Program Committee members of the conference, researchers, and practitioners to organize workshops and events (e.g., symposia, consortium meetings, project dissemination meetings, special sessions, etc.) to be held in conjunction with the BIS 2027 Conference, taking place on June 23-25, 2027 in Poznań, Poland.

The submission deadline for workshop and event proposals is December 15, 2026. If your schedule does not allow you to undertake this effort, feel free to forward this invitation to a colleague.

For 26 years, BIS has provided a platform that bring together researchers, practitioners, and academics to present and discuss ideas, challenges, and potential solutions on established or emerging topics in business information systems research and practice. More information on the current and previous editions of the BIS conference is available on the conference website at bisconf.org.

BIS 2027 workshops and events may address all aspects of business information systems. In particular, they may focus on the conference theme: “Orchestrating Human and Artificial Intelligence in Business” as well as the topics listed in the Call for Papers including:

  • AI Agents
  • Human-AI Collaboration
  • Business Process Management
  • Process Mining
  • NLP, Language Models, and Information Processing
  • Knowledge Graphs, Ontologies, and Semantic Technologies
  • Enterprise Data Platforms
  • Applications, Evaluations, and Experiences

The proposed workshop may be scheduled for any duration within the conference dates, ranging from a half-day to three days. The BIS organizing team will support its organization, including participant registration, website creation, and partial promotion of the call for papers, allowing workshop organizers to focus on the scientific aspects of the event (i.e., reviewing and selecting papers, structuring presentations into sessions, etc.).

Details regarding workshop organization are available in the BIS Workshop Policy document.

Publication

The post-proceedings of the BIS 2027 workshops will be published as a volume in Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) series by Springer Nature.
